There
are 1,000 's of great basketball sites in cyberspace (and a lot of real
crappy ones). Here are some of our favorites.
True Hoop
Join Henry Abbott on the best basketball blog out there. Recently bought up
by the Disney behemoth (aka ESPN.com), True Hoop remains the little hoops
blog that could. Excellent links to many other NBA blogs and sites. Plus,
the always fascinating journalistic pursuit of the truth about William
"Worldwide Wes" Wesley. Check it out, it's interesting, fun and always a
good read.
Hoopshype
The first place on the web that every NBA GM goes in the morning. The
Hoopshype rumours page collects whisperings from all over the league in one
place and lets you go to town. Also has an extensive database of other NBA
information. Trust me, check it out everyday (and you too could run an NBA
franchise). Remembering
the ABA
All old school, all the time (great afros, uniforms and sweet up-tempo
game).
Vermont
Frost Heaves
Join the international basketball adventurer, Mr. Alexander Wolff, as he
travels into the uncharted territory that is the ABA. My friend, and
senior Sports Illustrated writer, Alexander Wolff, has taken it upon
himself to provide the fine people of Vermont with a professional
basketball team. Combining a little New England hominess with the entrepreneurial
hoops spirit, Alex is going to document the expansion team's rise to ABA
power on both si.com and in the pages of Sports Illustrated. Regardless
of what happens, Alex and the Frost Heaves will have a lot of entertaining
stories if my experiences in the ABA are any indication. Maybe I
should polish up my resume (or at least send Otis Hailey down Vermont
way). Vermont, home of good Ben & Jerry's ice cream and the
ABA. Look for red, white and blue Rawlings crunch ice cream at
a supermarket near you. "Planet
Hoops" aka Hoop Hype
Vancouver local legends (or is that legends in their own minds?) Todd
Kozinka, Paul Bale and Bob Hieltjes offer up an interesting and expansive
new hoops site. A little bit of education (coaching, camps, clinics,
etc.), a little bit of commerce (custom player videos, video scouting,
etc.), a little bit of entertainment (blogs, podcasts, etc.) and a little
bit of Jerry Maguire (overseas player placements and research). The
boys encourage everyone to "take their shot," so, take a trip
over to their site and find your shot. Ozhoops
I've become a somewhat regular poster on the message boards of this
Australian hoops site. I went looking for information on my friends
playing and coaching Down Under, now I have a whole slew of new friends
(or at least their online names). So, join Cezar, anok, greenie, the
Hounddog, etc., and get into the NBL and check out the Australian
perspective on hoops in general. Good on 'ya, mate. ABA
It's back! After expanding to approximately 1,000 teams in the last
few years (that's honestly not an exaggeration), the ABA is settling into
its new groove with a variety of colourful teams and characters.
Come on, how can you not like a league that features the Charlotte
Krunk? The best part about the ABA is that pretty much anyone who
comes up with the $10,000 expansion fee gets a team. As my
experience with the mighty Calgary Drillers shows, sometimes you don't
even need $10,000. Regardless, this site is always good for locating
former Vancouver resident, Otis Hailey. Mark Cuban
Follow the Mavs owner as he blogs away. Thoughts on everything from NBA
officiating (big surprise) to hanging out with Donald Trump. Some of his
thoughts and analysis on getting rich and the stock market are worth the
read alone. The
WBL
That's right, the late great Vancouver Nighthawks and other fine 6'
5" and under squads get some love. There is also a fan page
documenting all the team's
logos. adidas
Worldwide shoe and apparel giant - once the enemy and now, hopefully, our
new friends! Nike
An even bigger worldwide shoe and apparel giant. Once and hopefully
future friends of ebehoops! Basketball
BC
Everything you need to know about what is shakin' in BC hoops.
Unfortunately, does not include any Puffy eating donut photos. NBA
All the pro information you could ever want or need. FIBA
For everybody with a European-style hoop jones. If you have a

you'd like to share, please e-mail us at mail at info@ebehoops.com
